Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas

Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas

The settlement of Bullocks Harbour would be its own little isle if not for the isthmus that connects it to Great Harbour Cay. The settlement offers everything cruising boats seek; a good selection of funky restaurants and bars, well-stocked grocery and liquor stores and a marina protected enough to ride out a hurricane. Most of the locals here are employed by the cruise lines. They commute by small boat every day from their hometown to the resort islands of Great Stirrup and Coco Cay where the cruise ships moor.

Great Harbour Cay was at one time an exclusive getaway for Hollywood A-listers. Scattered around the island, you'll find ruins of once-great resorts where the Rat Pack played golf and Cary Grant and Brigitte Bardot hung out on the picture-perfect beaches. There are seven miles of oceanfront beaches that include isolated enclaves and caverns to explore. You can easily find a beach to call your own for the day.
