Waterway Guide is thrilled to announce the release of Waterway Guide Bahamas Land and Sea, a comprehensive digital cruising guide written by cruising expert, Addison Chan. This living digital resource, available exclusively within the Waterway Guide Mobile App, is the ultimate guide for navigating and anchoring in the exquisite waters of the Bahamas.

Waterway Guide Bahamas Land & Sea is meticulously organized comprising anchorages, location descriptions, cruising routes, and invaluable advice for boaters. Approach and aerial photos from Chan's many years of on-the-water experience in The Bahamas are also included throughout the 15 chapters to enhance situational awareness of locations and positions.

One of the driving forces behind the project was the emergence of a new generation of cruisers. With young and first-time cruisers using online resources, Chan's Bahamas Land & Sea Facebook Group became a hotbed of questions and discussions that often require expert guidance.

Chan said, "Given the wealth of information available today, new cruisers often find conflicting opinions and advice from different sources. Users are encouraged to submit feedback and ask questions either through the app or on social media, contributing to an ongoing dialogue within the community. Filtering and curating information into the app platform is where we all learn what's relevant and accurate."

The Bahamas cruising guide within the mobile app is divided into multiple sections, including "Before You Go," "How Things Work in the Bahamas," and "Geographical Regions." This structure ensures that users have easy access to relevant information, making their journey as safe and enjoyable as possible. As with all of the titles in the Waterway Guide Mobile App platform, content can be downloaded to a mobile device for access when disconnected from internet service.

The guide introduces a distinctive feature of "Chart Briefings." Navionics screenshots are used throughout and annotated with diagrams and notes for in-depth information to assist in situational awareness. In addition, tracks are provided in the form of .gpx files that users can download to their devices or navigation apps to assist in their understanding of locations and local conditions.

Chan has also surveyed many new anchorages across The Bahamas and included them with detailed descriptions, ratings and navigation notes. Updated and verified local service directories with links and phone numbers that respond to single-touch activation are also included in all of the chapters.

Waterway Guide Media's president, Graham Jones, said, "This collaboration aligns with our vision at Waterway Guide to harness the contributions of the community and local guides, authors, and experts. We pride ourselves on our editorial teams, employing contributions of the cruising community, and publishing the best information to improve the boating journey. As with all of our titles, this latest collaboration with Addison is an authoritative resource from expert-generated experiences."

As a dynamic digital platform, the mobile app includes links to satellite views of maps and other resources. Waterway Guide Media and Chan are united in the mission to build a connected and knowledgeable community to serve as an important resource for exploring The Bahamas and America's waterways.

The Waterway Guide Bahamas Land & Sea cruising guide is now available for purchase inside of the Waterway Guide Mobile App, available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Seen something like this before in Active Captain. If it works as promoted it would be great but after reading the scant reviews it appears it is a hung verdict on its usefulness. Comments of patches and fixes generated by user complaints makes me worry initial users are the Beta and that not enough engineering went into the product before release. Bugs are expected with new releases but for me I have several concerns one is protection of my personal in formation. I also find using a phone for this type of product is not the best device as the screen is too small. My PC would be much better. The saving grace is Waterway Guide is backing this product so judging by the excellent products they produce it is expected this will develop into something worth while. I look forward to revisiting in the future.
