Left out Wilmington and the Cape Fear areas of Southport, Carolina and Wrightville Beaches. Wilmington has great museums, restaurants and a good airport 5-10 minutes away. Carolina and Wrightsville Beaches have some of the best beaches in NC and plenty of marinas along with 2 great harbors for anchoring, and free dinghy docks for walking to the beach or to restaurants.
