Noteworthy:

Tucked into a protected and historic deep-water port on the Yeocomico River, The Slips is located in Kinsale, part of Virginia’s Northern Neck peninsula. The 90 slip marina is just a short cruise from the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland and can accommodate vessels up to 80' LOA, 24' beam, and 10' draft with 30 AMP shore power. The recently updated marina is full of great amenities including a boat ramp, WiFi, clubhouse, pool, tennis & pickleball court, newly renovated showers and restrooms, and laundry facilities.

Onsite, boaters have access to kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals to explore the nearby beaches and wildlife. The Yeocomico Club is also based on the property and offers year-round events, cookouts, and a seasonal bar on the weekends, with membership benefits extended to slipholders and transients. The marina operates week-long sailing camps for kids throughout the summer, as well as sailing workshops, charters, and lessons for adults.

The property, which was once the site of a tomato canning factory in the 1880s, was renovated into a marina in 1956. In 2020 it was bought by the granddaughter of the original proprietor and has been transformed into a welcoming marina and club. The historic town is all within walking distance, where there is a specialty grocery store, the Kinsale Market (open Mon-Sat), and a museum. Every Sunday the marina hosts a popular yoga class in the morning, held in the sunny upstairs studio during colder months and out on the roof deck the rest of the year. There is a charming AirBNB in a historic building next door that's also operated by the marina. With many wineries, restaurants, and historic sites nearby, The Slips is a great base for exploring the Northern Neck and the Chesapeake Bay.
