Georgia's rivers are winding and picturesque. There's a strong tidal current and a large tide range --advance planning can help boaters travel with a favorable current. The Wilmington River travels past Thunderbolt, and then the ICW continues on Skidaway River which is home to Isle of Hope. ICW boaters will take Vernon River to Okeechobee River. There are a few marinas along this route along with dozens of secluded anchorages.
